Retirement Voices: Stories of Reinvention, Purpose, and Possibility
Your clients have spent decades preparing for retirement, and together you’ve built a financial plan designed to help them retire with confidence. But while financial readiness is essential, it’s only one part of the transition.
Retirement is also one of life’s most significant life changes, bringing shifts in identity, purpose, relationships, routines, and the way people experience their daily lives. You may have clients who delay retirement despite being financially ready, struggle to find fulfillment after leaving work, or seem uncertain about what’s next. These aren’t signs that the financial plan has failed. They’re often signs that your client is navigating the non-financial side of retirement, an area that deserves just as much thoughtful preparation.
One of the most meaningful projects I’ve been part of lately is Retirement Voices: Stories of Reinvention, Purpose, and Possibility. My chapter describes a reflective writing practice that helps people slow down, listen to themselves more closely, and explore what they want from life after work. I’m grateful to be included in a collection that broadens the retirement conversation beyond finances. Below is a summary of the book, published by the Retirement Coaches Association, and link to order it if you’d like to explore more.
In Retirement Voices: Stories of Reinvention, Purpose, and Possibility, retirement coaches, thought leaders, and transition experts share powerful stories, professional insights, and life lessons gathered from their own journeys and from the countless individuals they have guided through this pivotal life transition.
