About Kati Livingston

Meet Kati Livingston, M.A., M.Ed.

At some point, we all reach a moment when it’s time to shift—step away from a business, move on from a long-standing career, or begin a new chapter that looks nothing like the last. These transitions can feel deeply personal, often stirring questions about identity, purpose, and belonging.

At KLivingston Collaborative, my coaching is not about financial planning or investment advice—it’s about helping you navigate the inner landscape of change. What does it mean to leave behind a professional role that has defined you? How do you structure your time, create new sources of meaning, or reshape your relationships when your daily rhythms shift?

I work with clients on the social, mental, psychological, emotional, even spiritual aspects of career and life transitions. Together, we explore what’s changing for you—not just on paper, but within yourself and what you want to create next.

Why This Work Matters

My passion for this work is personal. Over the years, I’ve seen family members and colleagues struggle through major professional transitions—not because they lacked financial resources, but because they weren’t prepared to navigate the terrain they encountered when their work life shifted.

  • A relative knew she needed to start thinking about retirement, but asking those questions seemed daunting. She continued to work out of habit – until health issues forced the decision to step away.
  • A colleague imagined he would retire at a specific age, but life had other ideas. As unexpected circumstances pushed that timeline up, he struggled with the sudden shift, facing long, unstructured days and a deep sense of loss.
  • A coworker was ready to leave an unfulfilling job but couldn’t picture what came next—and stayed stuck in place.

Stories like these are not uncommon. And they reveal a truth we don’t talk about enough: changing what we do – whether by choice or not – asks us to face questions about time, energy, engagement, relationships, and identity.

What I Bring to This Work

I’m fascinated by how adults learn and develop over their lifespan and have a deep appreciation for the mental and emotional shifts required to adjust to the changes we encounter along the way. Drawing on my training in adult development and psychology, I coach leaders, entrepreneurs, and solopreneurs from multiple sectors through leadership transitions, business exits, and post-career reinvention. I’m dedicated to helping clients build insight, resilience, and a new sense of purpose beyond professional identity.

My experience includes:

  • Business consulting and leadership coaching to executives in Finance, Pharmaceutical, Technology and Higher Education as Managing Partner at CMS Associates
  • Masters in Adult Development and Psychology from Harvard University
  • Certifications in Executive Coaching from Columbia University and Retirement Coaching from Retirement Life Plan LLC. Registered member of the Retirement Coaches Association.
  • Over a decade teaching Change Leadership and Team Dynamics at Harvard Extension School and in global university leadership programs

I also integrate mindfulness, somatic coaching, and neuroscience-based strategies into my work. I understand how the brain craves certainty and struggles in ambiguity—and I help you move through that discomfort with clarity and confidence.

Redefining Success—On Your Terms

Whether you’re stepping away from a business, shifting careers, or adjusting to life beyond full-time work, you don’t have to figure it out alone.

Together, we’ll reflect deeply, explore what matters most now, and design a path forward that feels authentic, sustainable, and truly your own.

Let’s begin this next chapter—with intention.
